It requires a PHP script to implement which is not allowed in vBCloud. Although it is technically possible to implement it without a PHP script as what another dev did, it is not secured and thus not a best practice.

Hello! We recently updated our forum from vB 6.0.6 to 6.0.8. Since this update, the GIPHY button is no longer responsive. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

What did you mean by "not responsive"? It does nothing when you click? Could you provide more details?

When you hit the 'Insert GIFS' icon, nothing happens.

Mitch, i found a way for vBCloud to run this GIPHY mod and still make the GIPHY requests secure without exposing the GIPHY API key even if vBCloud has restriction to using PHP.. Are you still interested?

Thanks for confirmation the latest mod v1.1 works in vB 6.0.8.

Btw, thank you and Random Encounter for reporting the issue. The mod was created in 2018 and has worked for 6+ years without any update until vB made a breaking change.

For those who are interested, Mitch and I have successfully installed and set up GIPHY mod on his vBCloud forum. I will release it soon separate from this self-hosted version. Stay tuned!
