Released v1.2 to add Secondary Usergroups option. Paid customers will receive an email confirmation containing the download link.

flohse, please confirm if the Secondary Usergroups option works in the latest version. Once confirmed, I will add the same on other mods that have Primary Usergroups option. Thanks!

Hi Glenn, any update on this?

The mod only checks the primary usergroup. I will update it to also check the secondary usergroup.

I want to define a secondary user group whose membership determines whether a user is allowed to use the GIPHY mod or not. To do this, I created a group called “GIPHY users” and set all permissions to “No.” After all, the relevant permissions are as far as I know overwritten by the primary user group when set to “Yes.” For this approach, mere membership in the “GIPHY users” group is all that’s required. The “GIPHY users” group has been allowed to use the mod.

If I add a user from the “Registered User” group—who is not allowed to use GIPHY—also to the “GIPHY users” group as well, I would have expected that user to be allowed to use GIPHY. However, that is not the case.

Does the GIPHY mod ignore the membership of a secondary user group?

Btw. I have the same problem with the Shoutbox mod.

only if you are getting more than 100 posts in an hour, then there is no point, their requirements are set too high, I did the same, and blah blah blah, they denied.. oh well

I already asked GIPHY for a production key, but they didn't grant it.But right now there is no real need for a production key.

The non-production api, it just worked, I used the SDK issued api, this api is only giving you a 100 called per hour, if your website is very busy, you will have to apply for the production api,

    i meant the Production api

What do you mean by standard api key, the development api key? This works but is limited to a fixed number of api calls per hour.

Ok, I am just at the beginning. The number of posts and users may be the reason.

Or maybe they got stricter on the production api key approval.

Maybe it would also help to provide the monthly user visits, number of users, posts, etc?
