Recreating the vB3/vB4 feature in vB5 to allow user to quickly mark a forum channel read by simply double-clicking the forum icon.
Compatibiility:
vB5 and vB6 (self-hosted) with PHP 7+ or 8+. Not compatible with vBCloud but it's possible to create a vBCloud version.
Version History:
v1.3
v1.2
v1.1
v1.0
Demo:
Go to Homepage of this forum and double-click a forum icon with unread posts.
Note:
vB5 has an existing bug where if the "Topic/Forum Read Marking Type" option in AdminCP is set to "Database", marking a channel as read only works properly if the date of the last content of the forum channel is within the "Database Read Marking Limit" option. Let's say you've set this option to 10 days, it will only mark a channel as read if the date of the last content is within 10 days. If the last content is 11 days old or longer, it will not mark the forum as read. Please vote for it to get more attention from the vBulletin developers. To minimize the occurrence of this issue, it is recommended to set the "Settings > Options > General Settings > Database Read Marking Limit" option to a longer value like 180 days (6 months) or 365 days or longer.

$15 (branding-free)

Version History:
v1.3
- Fixed an issue in vB 6.1.3 where simpleversion JS variable was removed by vBulletin and it caused a JS error that broke this mod.
v1.2
- Fixed a bug in the mod for the latest vB 6.0.8 version where Read Marking system was refactored and changed — the "Topic/Forum Read Marking Type" option in AdminCP was removed and read marking for guests was also removed.
- Updated the mod based on these vB 6.0.8 changes. For vB 6.0.7 and lower (including vB 5.x), read marking still follows the "Topic/Forum Read Marking Type" option and read marking for guests still works as is.
v1.1
- Added support for vBulletin 6.x.
v1.0
- Initial version
