I can't stress enough that this issue is not a mod issue. This is an issue in the vBulletin forum software itself. The issue occurs with or without this video player mod.
Please do not blame the mod for this issue and then ask for a refund.
Update: vBulletin has updated the bug ticket I created for them and confirmed this is a vBulletin issue. They have assigned a vBulletin developer to fix this issue and have assigned a Fix Version which means this will be fixed in the upcoming vBulletin version. Not sure which version though. But it's good to know that this issue is being addressed sooner than I expected.
Click the link below to see more details of the ticket.
Update: vBulletin has fixed the issue and the ticket is now in Code Review. This means that another developer needs to review the fix and approve it. This fix will probably be included in vB 5.4.6 release.
Im willing to buy this product as branding-free but I would like to see it in action, do you have an example in your forum?
I am familiar with MP4 in localhost, I am using it by jquery on a website and by iframe in my vb 3.811 forum.
1) Is it compatible with vB 5.5.0?
2) Is it possible to place the MP4 video files inside a directory video_attachments above the web ?
3) Is it possible to disable the 'Save the video URL as' or 'send the video link by email' by using the right click (under FireFox by example) ? Or a setting to privatize the video by domain like the Vimeo paid plans ?
4) The iOS bug fix for playing video and audio is released?
5) What about the look of the video player? Is it the same than your screenshot (color, look, etc).
6) Is it possible to 'center' the video by css? Change the color of the player by CSS only ?
I don't have my own live demo of this mod but I included a video screencast in the first post.
Yes. It is similar to the Audio Attachments Player mod.
Yes. These are just video file attachments like any other regular attachments. Once you move the attachments storage to file system, all types of attachments are moved.
No. Once the video (or any other media for that matter) is loaded on the page, the browser has downloaded the file and the user can get it. Note that vBulletin has no video/audio streaming/buffering feature like YouTube.
Yes. It was released in vB 5.4.5. See the "Media Files" section in their release notes.
Just like the Audio Player, the Video Player is using the browser's native controls. This means that the video player will look differently per browser. Each browser has its own style for the video/audio player.
Yes it is possible to center the video by CSS just like in the audio player. For changing the color and controls, you need Javascript and not just CSS (similar to audio player). That's how the browsers allow customizing the look and feel of media players.
The attachments on your screencast at https://youtu.be/RkN8fUBGi88?t=56 are 100% responsive ? Cellular too? The videos appear to be 100% wide in the postbit on your screencast
[*]No. Once the video (or any other media for that matter) is loaded on the page, the browser has downloaded the file and the user can get it. Note that vBulletin has no video/audio streaming/buffering feature like YouTube..[/LIST]
I guess we get pretty good streaming by decreasing the bit rate of videos until an acceptable image quality. No problem streaming to 30mbits with this video in localhost with a bit rate of 4000-6000. I guess it's the same with your product in localhost. https://postimg.cc/YjHs5bLQ
No, it doesn't work in vB6. The online/offline status icon has changed to Font Awesome icon in vB6 and the HTML and CSS classes have changed as well....
