Can you get the ajax response text from the create-content api call in the browser dev tools? If you don't know how to do this, then I'd need test account on your forum for me to check.

1. What version of vB5 are you running?
2. What is the error in the JavaScript console after submitting a post? To open the console, press F12 ans click Console tab.
