ID:	32638 We do not allow the uploading of images or files for new registrants until they are 'promoted' to our Establised Usergroup. The promotion is based on post count.

This new user made their first post (they currently only have one post) and embedded an image; there isn't an uploaded image file. How was this allowed?

The Linux Community has given me much. I do what I can to return the favor!

Maybe they embedded an external image and didn't attach a local image. Check the URL of the image.

There should be a URL. Right click and choose Open image in new tab.

I was right then. They embedded an external image and didn't upload an image to your server. That doesn't cover the upload image permission.

Is there a way in vBulletin itself to prevent this, and if not, is there something you can do?

I don't think there's a way to prevent that in vBulletin without a mod.

            Do you have this mod?

Tired of spam bots or humans posting spammy links? Worry no more! This Stop Links in Posts mod allows you to prevent users from posting external links based on their usergroup and/or post count. This plugin is very useful for forums that want to reduce spam and unwanted links on their site. It helps you to control the quality

This mod prevents users in specific usergroups and/or users with specific number of posts to post external links including embedding images with external URL.

Yes, we do, and I have it set for Registered Users (Usergroup ID 2) and a Post Count of 2.

I checked and that's a bug in the mod. I found a fix and will release a new version shortly.
