    Seeing links only for Usergroup 1,2,3....

    Hello,

    I want to have some option/template change that Users only from a specific usergroups are able to see posted links.
    Like:
    Usergroup 1,2,3 is allowed to see.

    Usergroup 4,5,6,guests,searchbots... are not allowed to see posted links.

    Is there already something available for vb6?

    Thanks for your inputs.

    vB6 has added new template conditional to check for usergroup using the <vb:usergroup> tag. See sample below:
    HTML Code:
    <vb:usergroup groupid="2,6">
        <div>If you are an Admin or Regular user, you should see this!!!</div>
    </vb:usergroup>

    <vb:usergroup notgroupid="2,6">
        <div>If you are NOT an Admin or Regular user, you should see this!!!</div>
    </vb:usergroup>

      If i would be a coder, I am sure, you pointed the right way....sadly I am not

      Is there a chance for a complete info, where I have to put the full Info, just for all URLs or its maybe some upgrade / feature for your paid mod:
      Tired of spam bots or humans posting spammy links? Worry no more! This Stop Links in Posts mod allows you to prevent users from posting external links based on their usergroup and/or post count. This plugin is very useful for forums that want to reduce spam and unwanted links on their site. It helps you to control the quality

        That mod has an option to specify the Usergroup(s) to where the mod will apply to. What new feature do you want it to have?

          That what I posted....a option to show links just for usergroups 1,2,3... and a alternative text if the user is not in this group.

          I understand your code here, but I am not able to implement it myself in the template

              I'll check and evaluate. To clarify, you want to hide all links in a post to specific usergroups. What if one of those usergroups posted a link in their posts? They won't see the links they posted?

                The real sense of it, for me, is very simple, maybe it explains it better:

                I want, that only users from the groups VIP/legendary AND! people from the group "Donator" are able to see links.

                If someone from the group "Junior Member" (like me here on your forum) sees his own link or not -> doesn't really matter to me (no need to make any change to the official vbulletin logic).

                Just need to be, how u already posted it:
                If usergroup VIP/leg/don (1,2,3) then show the link all others show them a text and a weblink (-> donatorspage).

                  Got it. Thanks for clarification.

                This may not completely satisfy your needs but this makes the links inside a post blurred and not clickable for guests.

                The CSS code can be adjusted to apply for specific usergroups.
