    Adding a second language option

I am looking to add a second language option to my forum. How difficult is this to do ?

Also how would it be implemented ? would it give you a drop down menu with the options.

You can add another language in AdminCP. I don't know what language you want to add but there are language packs out there that you can use. Otherwise, you'd have to translate each of the hundreds (if not thousands) phrases manually.

Did you also read the instructions that Wayne linked in that topic?

It's simpler than you think. After logging in to AdminCP, navigate to Languages & Phrases > Download / Upload Languages. Then under "Import Language XML File" section, upload the language XML file you downloaded from your computer, leave other fields with their default values and then click Import button.

Ask vB support if they have the 5.5.0 version of the French Language pack.

There is a language chooser dropdown at the left section of the footer. Check vbulletin.com to see.

I had a look at vb site, does the language pack not translate all the posts as well or is it just forum headings ?

Just the forum headings which are pre-translated in the XML language file. There's no real-time translation for the user-generated content. Otherwise, it would require a translation tool similar to Google Translate.
