Move Facebook and Twitter icons from postbit to inside post above or inside signature line?

Is it possible to move those icons from the Postbit area?

Preferably inside the individual post next to the IP button.

I started coding for that when they added those social buttons in postbit. But I haven't finished it yet. It is for self-hosted version, though. I will also work on vBCloud version too.

question Glenn, if I were to attempt to try to do something like this myself would float be a possible good starting point?

I'll use whatever you come up with I'm sure but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot to see if I can sort it out just not sure where to really start here.

Using CSS alone is not enough to move the social buttons from postbit to the post footer. It would also require Javascript. This is the context where editing existing templates is not to be done due to potential template merge issues in every upgrade process.
