    Sphinx Search

Could someone please explain what the advantages or pros and cons about Sphinx Search are and write a tutorial (for a newbie) how to install / activate it?

There's a Sphinx documentation by vB. I attempted to install it. I did but can't get it to run. Stuck with an error I can't figure out yet.

        Thanks for sharing William.

I'm going to reinstall Sphinx on my server following those instructions. Hope I can make it working this time.

I also found this Glenn which is from Sphinx (I believe my server uses Centos):

It appears they also have a support forums: http://sphinxsearch.com/forum/forum.html?id=1

          Enjoy,

Hm... unfortunately it seems to there is nothing like this for vbulletin 5?

            THAT would be great.

I followed similar instructions I found on the web for CentOS 7 (I use CentOS too).
I was able to install Sphinx and have it running successfully. But it doesn't work with vBulletin.
I think I have to follow the exact installation steps from vB or DigitalPoint.
