Ok I think there's a timing issue. You trigger click before the click handler is assigned. Trigger the click on window onload event.

window.addEventListener('load', function() {
    //Trigger the click here

That seems to have solved that issue. You've got a typo there though, should have a semi-colon at the end instead of the colon.

Yeah that was a typo. I was typing on my phone.

Somewhat related to this is once the Edit Signature opens it does so with a width of 500px. Seems like it's dropping some css inline. Do you know what is feeding those values to the UI widget?

The Edit Signature dialog is called with a harcoded width of 500. Do you want to change it? You can override it with CSS.

Yeah I do want to change it. On a desktop it's just too narrow and squat to be too useful.
