      Great product! I love it, just installed it, great job. One question... How can I add more text to both the title and description of latest topics? Now it's truncated and I would like to show more text, it's just a few words now. Is that possible? See attachment. Live site at www.set-and-forget.com

      Thanks in advance.
      Regards,
      Alfonso

        Thanks for purchasing this product.

        It only displays one line and is truncated by the browser based on available space. That is the behavior in the default Search module and this custom Search module I created.

            Hi Glenn, I am looking for a few mods to enhance our recently upgraded vb5 forums and this looks like it may be one of them. A question however, does it already have a setting to filter by poster usergroup, and if not, could it be made to do so? I would like to have a Widget for posts by members of certain groups.

              Welcome to the forums!

              Even the default Search module has a config setting to filter posts by Member. It also has a setting to only show starter posts by the specified Member.

              Those settings are also available on this custom Search module that rocks.

                Hi Glenn,

                Is there a way to increase the avatar size to 100px in the search module that rocks?

                Here's my activity page, and the search module is down below the information panels. I'd like to increase the left side avatars.

                Any help would be appreciated!

                William

                  Code:
                  .search-widget-thatrocks .b-post-sm__avatar {
                      width: 100px;
                      height: 100px;
                  }
                  .search-widget-thatrocks .b-post-sm__avatar img {
                      width: 100px;
                      height: 100px;
                      max-width: 100px;
                  }
                  .search-widget-thatrocks .b-post-sm__content--has-avatar {
                      margin-left: 112px;
                  }
                  If you only want to do this on desktop, then prepend each CSS rule with .l-desktop

                    Note that some avatars might be stretched and pixelated because the Search API seems to always return thumbnail sized avatars.

                  actually this looks really good
                  can you pelase show the admin options
                  can we include / exclude topics or the only way to control it is by using
                  search strings like
                  Code:
                  {"starter_only":1,"date":{"from":"22"},"channel":["25","26","28","27","29","30","35","36"],"sort":{"created":"desc"},"view":"compact","exclude_type":["vBForum_PrivateMessage"]}
                  looking forward in getting the mod
                  if it can filter stuff the easy way

                    The only way to do that is via the Search JSON criteria. That's how search works in vB5.

                      Hi Glenn,

                      Can you provide the Json string to enter into the advanced editor to show updated topics in the search module?

                      Appreciate any help that you can give. Right now I have the search module that rocks set for every new response, but I'd like to show another search module that shows only updated topics.

                      Thanks,
                      William

                        Try adding

                        Code:
                        "starter_only": 1

                          Thanks Glenn!

                          As I sat here in front of the computer after the update two modules ceased working. One made by another company, and I thought.... I would not need that module from the other company if there was a search module that "auto" updated or refreshed! Consider this a request!

                          It would be awesome to have the module that shows recent posts auto update every so often like 60 seconds.

                          Enjoy,
                          William

                            Will look into adding auto reload functionality in this module.

                          FYI. I updated this module to version 1.1 to support vB 5.2.6 which introduced a new content type Events. Without this, Events will not show up in this custom module.

                          Follow the updated instructions in the readme file. When you install the new version, make sure you choose "Allow Overwrite > Yes". Then in Sitebuilder, you may need to edit the Search module to check the new "Events" checkbox in order for the Events to show up in the module..

                          Existing buyers of this product have been notified of this update. They should be receiving an email containing a download link.
