How do you the Forum layout wider?

I have a similar Wide/Narrow layout on my homepage as this forum, but the content area doesn't extend as far to the sides as I'd like. Here's what I mean:

Name:	layout.JPG
Views:	1850
Size:	27.4 KB
ID:	4731 vbmods Click image for larger version

Name:	layout2.JPG
Views:	729
Size:	45.8 KB
ID:	4733 mine

How do I extend the width of the content to make it closer to the social buttons?

For me, I also set the wrapper_margin stylevar to:

        Top: 0
        Right: 65
        Bottom: 0
        Left: 65

to make sure there is always 65px spacing on both sides.

Yes but it's better to do it with stylevars as posted in #2 and #4. In general, style customization is done better using stylevars (if available). If not, then use custom CSS via css_additional template.

                Check the following:
                1. Are you changing the stylevars for the correct style/theme?
                2. Are you storing CSS as files? If yes, check the following:
                  1. Clear the browser cache.
                  2. Are you using CloudFlare or similar? You may need clear the cache on Cloudflare

I have a vb6 cloud forum and I found the the wrapper_max_width under "Page" rather than "Global" The variable was set to 1200 px. I changed to px setting to % and the value to 100.

This worked like a charm. Thanks Glenn! I had read on the vbulletin forums that it was inadvisable to do this as it might cause problems for mobile devices, but it works fine on mine and no complains from the masses.
