Vbulletin 5, password reset error

    Vbulletin 5, password reset error

    if you go to "i forgot my password" you can type in your mail address, then you get a link per mail if you follow that link you get to the "reset password" page and there you can choose a new password, but by clicking the "ok" button there will occur an error message which tells: "The address that you have used to request a new password is not valid." so there is currently no possibility to reset your password as a user without admin login

    Do you know any solution?

    Is the activation id in the url correct? Sometimes email clients mess up URLs in the email.

      i got same error in url activation id and user id is correct .... i replace ..
      protected $whitelistPrefix = array('help', 'contact-us', 'lostpw', 'register', 'activateuser', 'activateemail', 'admincp');
      this also debug on but not showing any error ....plz help me

          i am using vBulletin 5.3.0 this is default setup i download form vb

            You said you replace the code you posted. You should not edit anything for the reset password to work in vB 5.3.0. As far as I know, there should be no password reset issues in 5.3.0. I suggest you post in the vB support forum.

              OK Thank you for quick reply. I got this error "The address that you have used to request a new password is not valid. Please request a new password be sent to you by using this page.".

                That error will only occur if the activation id is incorrect. Post in the vbulletin.com support forum so that their staff can take a look at your set up.
