Issue with Today's Posts Last Post column information for specific user

One of our longtime users contacted me about an issue he has with his account, in that when he replies/posts to an existing Topic, the information as to who made the last post, when clicking on Today's Posts and observing the Last Post column, his Avatar is shown, but his username isn't the one shown next to by; it is that of the OP.



Clicking on the Last post link and seeing the last entry in the Topic does show that this user (Qqmike) and not the OP made the last post.



I don't see this issue with other users, having compared my own last post made on a Topic in Today's Post, were I was not the Topic creator.

Why would this be happening to this user?

I've seen this data sync issue reported in the official vB support forum in the past. Did this issue stay for a long time until a new last post was made? I suspect the user just caught it at the crossover when the last post cached data was about to be synced with the latest data and the issue was happening for just a few moments.
