Registered users can see unapproved posts

For some strange reason registered users can see unapproved posts although they have no moderator permissions under their usergroup and forum permissions, I doubled checked and it seems like this issue is a bug.
Is there anything I can do in order to fix this issue?
    Thanks for any help.

I've upgraded to 5.7.2 but still facing the same issue, seems like a weird bug.
Maybe someone has a fix for it though.

For those regular users seeing the unapproved posts, are they the author of the posts? If they are, then seeing their unapproved posts is working as designed. If they are not the author and they see unapproved posts by others, then that's an issue.

I just tested in vB 5.7.5, and I confirm that regular users see their own unapproved posts and don't see those that are not theirs.

Btw, why didn't you upgrade to 5.7.5 the last vB5 version?

Wait, registered users can approve their own unapproved posts. That seems to be a bug. They should not be able to do anything but just view their own unapproved posts.

Yes they should indeed see their own unapproved posts, but they shouldn't be able to see other user's unapproved posts. Only moderators should be able to do that, and that's the case here. It really seems like a weird bug and I doubt 5.7.5 fixes it cause they didn't mention any fix in their patch/update notes.
I didn't upgrade to 5.7.5 because of the use of PHP 8 which I suspect may break some of our plugins, I'm having difficulties setting up a testing environment because I can't seem to give my test subdomain php 8.

Yeah I'm telling ya, there's some fishy bugs with unapproved posts. Sometimes the unapproved post is even empty although it had some text but shows as empty.

I've possibly found the issue, seems like it has something to do with the "Can view others' topics" channel permission.
Whenever I set it to 'No', they are able to see other user's unapproved post (in their own thread). But when I set it to 'Yes', they aren't able to see other's unapproved posts which is really bizare.
I don't even mind giving only certain usergroups the option to globally view unapproved posts/hardcode it, but don't know where to do this.
