Error when trying to save Signature changes

A long time user reported an issue to me. He is unable to change/modify his Profile Signature. The following error is generated:

I accessed his Profile as him (Admin View as User) and tried to modify his Signature. The only thing being done was adding the following text:

"Currently running Kubuntu 24.04" (without the quotes)

    This is his Profile Signature:

Challenges are what that keeps us from the borderline of boredom in life's journey. Linux user #419401

I tried to make it this:

Currently running Kubuntu 24.04. Challenges are what that keeps us from the borderline of boredom in life's journey. Linux user #419401

The Linux Community has given me much. I do what I can to return the favor!

Interestingly, when I edited my own Profile Signature via User Settings > Account > Edit Post Signature I had no such issue. The change was saved. Or is that a different signature?

I think I figured this out. I again used Admin View as User and edited his Post Signature and saved successfully. This time I removed the # sign (#419401). The signature now reads:

Currently running Kubuntu 24.04. Challenges are what that keeps us from the borderline of boredom in life's journey. Linux user 419401

Seems the parser objects to the # character.

Try wrapping the # character inside [noparse] [/noparse] BBCode tags.

        [noparse]#[/noparse]419401

          That works. Thank you.

Interestingly though, while doing this does satisfy the parser; no error generated, and the change is saved; if you subsequently go back in to edit the signature, the noparse tags are gone, and if you don't put them back, the error is again generated when you attempt to save.

That may be a bug. If you click the "Source" button in the editor, do you see the noparser tag?
