Comments to trigger Messages Notification

Here in vbmods, Comments trigger the Messages Notifications. I believe that by default, vBulletin 5 doesn't do this, a lament of many. How did you accomplish this, and is it available to the masses?

I don't remember making any changes to it. What kinds of notifications do you see for comments here?

I might be confusing two different things.

I guess what I'm 'seeing' is that a Comment to a Post made in vbmods triggers Messages (top of the page to the left of ones login profile image). But I guess that's going to be true as long as one is Subscribed to the Topic.

I was confusing new Unread Topic content being triggered from Comments (not Posts). That is something I believe vBulletin 5 doesn't do. Or have I just not had enough coffee yet?
