All three of my vBulletin forums I have been running for well over a decade incorporated PhotoPost Pro. This was a photo image gallery plug-in that was specifically designed to integrate with vBulletin.
Unfortunately, the developer went out of business a few years ago.
I am in the process of optimising vBulletin 5 on one of my sites. I previously ran 3 and then 4 on that site. Once this job is done I will do the same to my other two vBulletin installations (though skipping vB4).
One of my biggest headaches is PhotoPost. It's not not compatible with later versions of PHP required for vB5.
I am currently experiencing a short period of server overload caused, apparently, by spider bots, at the same time of day for a few minutes, causing gateway timeouts for my users.
It seems the PhotoPost databases could be the problem. They have thousands of images (though the images are not stored in the database AFAIK).
Is anyone in the same situation - did you find a solution?
