You can add custom footer using template hook system. There is a hook location called footer_before_body_end at the bottom of every page that you can utilize for it.

It's done by going to go to AdminCP > Products & Hooks > Manage Template Hooks > Add New Hook
Hook Location: footer_before_body_end
Then I add the script or html code i have there, NOT by editing the templete footer and add it there .. right? -
Correct. That is the proper way of doing it if it's possible. Editing existing vB templates may cause merge conflicts that need to be resolve every time you upgrade.
