Pop Up Notifications

I haven't seen this suggestion.

Is it feasible to create a pop-up notification box for the users to see when a notification is created in the admincp? It would pop up while they're navigating on the site.

As an example, when you need to shut down your forum but want to give users time to finish any posts, comments, etc, before you turn the forums off. The best example I can think of right now is when you need to install an update/upgrade. This would give them time to either finish the post or wait.

The popup needs to appear every time the user loads any page on the site?

You can create a Notice to inform the users. Make it non-persistent to make it show only once per visit and dismissable to allow users to close it. If you want it to pop up, it would be similar to the Guest Notice popup that appears on this site for guests.

To keep it simple have it use the same configuration rules as is in admincp, just make it a pop up until it’s acknowledged by the user. Just something that grabs the users attention instead of the simple way it does now.
