    Threads that expire

How difficult would it be to make a mod that makes threads expire after a set time (say, 30 days)?

I searched the net and it appears that others have wanted similar functionality in the past, but nothing exists.

What exactly happens when a thread expire?

Ideally, this could be set per forum, by certain usergroups. The thought is, someone can place an ad (sale an item, list a service, etc) and it expires when the listing ends. If someone is a premium subscriber, their ad may stay up for the duration of their subscription status.

This has the potential to be a revenue generator for websites so it's fully anticipated that this would be a premium mod.
