It would be great if a member could set their donation link within their profile and when enabled a picture similar to the one Glenn uses appears underneath their Avatar.



That may help give incentive to members to post very detailed helpful information to other members questions whereas they might not have without the donation system in place.

I'm just actually using custom BBCode tag [donate] to display that in my signature using this format:

[donate]default-amount-goes-here[/donate]

Oh, I just don't want to allow images for all members in their signatures because it can slow the forum down a lot especially if waiting on images from external URLs. Having it under the section I mentioned would be better I think.

I haven't really looked into how to use [donate]default-amount-goes-here[/donate] yet.

Then it's better to use a custom profile field for the donation link and then use the free postbit mod I have here. That free mod, however, does not display URLs as links.
