Here's is a new product I would like to see for vB5. I would like an add-on that allows the Administrator of a forum to browse/edit/modify/delete a forum's private messages. I had such an add-on in 4.2.2 ... it was called PM Manager (or something like that) but the creator of that add-on is no longer around.
Now I understand that some individuals would view a mod like this as an invasion of privacy, and that is a valid point-of-view. However, another way to view it is - as owner of the forum, the PM database is the property of the owner ... and so he/she should be able to view/edit/delete any portion of it. Plus - in years past, I have had users who spammed people only through the PM system, and so the only way I would know that is to be able to view it. [And/or if someone reported the PM spam, I would be able to verify/validate the issue - but in the absense of that PM tool, then I would have no way to validate the complaint.]
