    New Members Can't Post Links

I know Vb 5 has a minimum post count that can be set before a newbie can post links. But it doesn't work. It would be really nice to have the ability to set 10 post minimum and a warning/or notice to the new member that they don't have enough posts yet to post links.

    Enjoy,
    William

That's just for posting Link content type using the Link icon next to the Camera icon. But do you also want to prevent new users from pasting/typing links inside the editor itself?

This actually makes a lot of sense. In fact, a permission setting or whatever based on number of posts to expose and allow different BBcodes would probably be a pretty popular mod. Usergroup settings doesn't quite give enough control.

I'd love full control over bb code. For example, limit who can post a link and video. I'd make only text posts for free membership and I'd charge to allow images, videos, and links..... to paid for subscriptions only.

Seriously wish someone would come up with this .... or does anyone want to tackle this for Christforums for a reasonable charge?

          Enjoy,
          William

Hmmmm, why doesn't William want to delve into the world of PHP and experimental hooks to make this happen? You could be a millionaire in 2 or 3 hundred years if you did. . But seriously, bbcode control would be a great VALUABLE mod for the genius that introduced it should it happen. I'd probably buy that one.

That's the thing, I know one vbulletin 3 forum that has a minimum requirement to post links. If in the editor I type http:// or www. blah blah then it would say, "you don't have enough posts to do that yet" etc.

I'm now going to look at products available for vb3 and see if this was a mod available to the public.

              Enjoy,
              William

What I don't understand is how the spam management can detect links and send the post to moderation instead of just sending a warning that you do not have enough posts to post links and preventing someone form posting as long as there is a link.... You know that I can't do this.... but it just seems that it is possible concerning the spam management in vbulletin can detect links in the ckeditor.
