Most new businesses are not well versed about setting up their web servers. Some cannot even easily opt a certain hosting plan and when they do, they do not conduct enough research about it. Not every sort of hosting plan works for every type of business propositions. Small websites that have low or medium traffic suffice by the use of shared hosting but as a personal experience, I chose Linux dedicated servers, as my core requirement was to bring more stability in my web platform. While every type of server has reliable security but dedicated servers are more secure. That is my own experience with dedicated servers.

Shared hosting is good for sites with light to moderate traffic. While dedicated hosting in my opinions suits best for big sites with business getting a huge amount of traffic.
