and we are running VB 5 from snatch since almost the beginning of ver 5
Our team have huge experience with ver 3 and 4
but ... vb v.5 ... omg we ware into a huge surprise
allot of bugs allot of problem
not an easy way to modify core files
even if you do you ware f*ed when a new version comes out..
aaaaa
good old times :P
But we staid with it as the new platform got potential. vb5 now is quite stable.
Still missing allot of the old vb4 features that everyone might be used to..
but 5 have allot more to offer in the long run
Yeah we had to edit a the postbit a little bit....
the idea is to return the OLD reputation and rep power look a like (that actually vb5 have it in its core but not displaying it)
so here is our end result
not perfect but still this way its a little bit closer the what VB was.
+ a little female or male sign to distinguish members
I was actually surprised by Glenn's attempt to code a so much needed feature as Auto Links for VB5 ?

To link back to your products or services this is a great feature to have...
For SEO purposes it will help too (yeah a rel="dofollow" or no should be an option or just a mod that when the post test is parsed replaces the xxxx with XXXX2 that can be an actual html ot bb code)
I really hope glennrocksvb can work on this as he is more familiar with the vb core
but .. the post parsing is there for smileys and the so annoying VigLink mod that actually does that (parse xxx text from one url to another in their/your favor...
the VigLink mod do scan**: Table: text Column: rawtext
**(parse the actual post to something else based on conditions)
