    Where to start?

    Hi,

So where to start with this.

    First :

I am Adama, i am 38 years old.
I have been at home for more then 10 years now due to heart problems.
Sinds then, i discovered forums and began on Vbulletin 3.8.7.
He thought me a lot about Vbulletin and it's possibility's.
Later i went to Vbulletin 4, and this was really my board.
With lots of mod's i build several forums, and when mods did not work anymore i could fix them by searching and trying.
Even when Vbulletin stopped after 4.2.5 it ran a long time on php 7.4.
Unfortunately there was a security problem, and i got hacked!
So for safety off my members i stopped using it.
    I bought a Vbulletin 5 license, and updated the vb4 tot vb5.
I saw on vbulletin.org a lot of mods for Vbulletin 5 that i needed, so everything seemed perfect.
Unfortunately not everything works how it should, and my knowledge is not good enough to fix all off that.

So now to the point "where to start".

I want to learn how everything works about Vbulletin 5.
I want to know how i can make mods for it, program etc.
I did read about a topic on vbulletin.com about how to, i believe it was from BirdOfPrey.

But also when reading that, i am missing a lot.

So, where do i start learning as a totally new programmer to become a Vbulletin 5 programmer?
Are there online lessons etc. that i can/must follow.
What are the best steps to follow?

I am serious about this, i want to do this!!
Not just for me, but so i can also share my things with people who need them.
And also like Glenn that i can help people, because there are not many people like Glenn with all the experience.

I hope someone can help me with this, show me the way.

    1. Learn PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery. You don't have to be an expert, just learning the basics is fine. Aside from those tutorials, you can also refer to the below cheat sheets:
    2. Learn how to create a basic vB5 mod by BirdOPrey5. This must be the one you're referrring to.
    3. Learn the vB5 Template Syntax. This is the code used in a template to render dynamic content on a page.
    4. Learn how to create custom API and use PHP Hooks system by checking out the sample packages in the /do_not_upload/development folder in the vB5 installation package.
    5. Install vB5 on your local computer using XAMPP or WampServer (or whatever your preferred web app development environment) and use it as your playground for creating mods.
