But what if user paused the video or audio, should the ajax resume auto-updating? What if the user wanted to resume playing the media? Auto-updating the posts will lose the media paused state. But if you disabled ajax auto-updating when a media is paused, it may not be enabled back if user kept the media paused for a long time. What to do in these scenarios?
Personally I would prefer the case scenario whereby the Ajax Auto Update gets disabled when media is being played back or is in a paused state and should only resume once the user has manually refreshed the page or left the page or/and the Auto update would resume once the media had completed playback as well, but not sure what is possible with this feature.

I know there is not a one scenario fits all, but I think the above covers the bases. Even if it were a case that a user had to manually refresh the page in order to resume Ajax Auto update, its a small price to pay in order to keep the update feature live across the whole site and retain the functionality of media embeds.

In any case I think if the Ajax Auto update mod could be updated to be more ''Flexible'', that would be fantastic and would please many. Happy to put something towards it to in order to see it done

    Cheers.

Not so much a flaw with this mod, but an inconvenience depending on the site content. If you have video or audio embeds in your site that you are watching/listening to a thread where Ajax auto update is enabled. Upon the auto refresh it will stop your video/audio from playing. While I know that you can disable Ajax auto update from certain sections of your site, generally speaking many sites will have video or audio embedded in any and all sections, meaning this feature would be a little moot and would have to be disabled completely or in multiple sections which is not ideal.

glennrocksvb is there a way to stop this from happening at all ?
