Content sliders are a major spice to every website's looks and feel, i find the functionalities of the default vBulletin 5 content slider limited in the following aspects :
1- Json search code is unable to to pick various post elements and use them as a slide background , such as linked (not attached images) and also album images that some users may use instead of attaching an image
2- all content sliders you will be using across all pages of your site share the same stylevars which makes it quite difficult (if not impossible) to customize several content sliders across your site for different contents !.
cz every change on the styles of your content slider in one page would affect the other content sliders on your site.
3- lacking flexibility in giving the user more options on customization of many styling aspects such as adding and removing buttons , borders and shading, different choices of design templates , you may also think of many others.
We have to give the credit to vBulletin for the very existence of the content slider module in Vb5, but i hope in the near future we will be giving the credit for its evolution to Glenn as it was the case with many others of his master piece work.
