One of the most viewed and used channels on our electronic music production board is the matketplace where members can sell and buy gear and licenses. We have set up guidelines for creating threads in this channels. These guidelines however do not in any way guarantee their use. This results in a rather random collection of threads in which members sell or search. We have been thinking of ways to structure this channel more. One option would be to offer members a form when creating a new thread in which they can (but not have to) input values for for example Brand name, age, price or type. We would like to be able to setup the categories for these forms as well as the optional values. Members should be able to choose one of the values per category.
These selected values should also be searchable.
I realize this suggestion is rather specific. On the other hand I can imagine that a lot of other boards offer a marketplace as well.
