    Custom vB5 website

This is my own custom vB5 forum theme.
The site is private so no links and some info is blurred out.
But it should be enough to show that vB5 does not have to look like a throwback to Windows 3.1
This is using the Floating Bar mod

Looks like you have a lot of time involved in your site Felix2. May I ask what your niche is? Gaming? I see that it says Fantasy, so I thought it was for some genre of Gaming. How do you invite people to your forum? And lastly, may I ask, why not go public?

    Enjoy,
    William

Felix2 you said in the other thread that you are not using existing vBulletin templates. But based from your screenshot above, the forum display page where it lists all the threads seems to be using the default vBulletin templates as it looks structurally the same with the default except that the styles are customized which makes it look different.

Yes, a lot of time. And it is a constant change because my niche, among many others, is software development. Yes, I have been a hard core games developer for over 30 years. I also have a degree in starving. That is to say, I was once a completely unknown artist. I use my art skills in my custom website designs and games. What you are seeing there is a small section of my fantasy art gallery.
Invitation is usually by need or proof. That is to say, it is mainly a small group of people who are either working on a coding project with me or have some other reason to be there.
        Why not public? Several reasons.
        A. The site is a proving ground for testing new code and we don't want it stolen or leaked;
        B. The site has many forums hosted for those topics that not all the world wants to see, such as it supports an LGBT forum. Such forums tend to be controversial and when public are often attacked. It also has sport, politics and religion. Timebombs waiting to go off were they public.
        C. The site hosts one of the worlds largest religious databases, covering more than 6,000 world religions. The information is available to Magus and Academics for research, but to open it to the public would invite massive conflict. Having checked your own site, you might appreciate this. I have a large section that covers the 30 years War whereby the Catholic Church attempted genocide upon Protestants in the longest and bloodiest war in human history. The fact that war makes the Nazi Reich look like Disney mousketeers is not something most Catholics want the general public reading, and I don't want the fighting taking place on my forum. That is only 2 denominations of a single religion. Multiply that by thousands on a global scale. I could not maintain such a large database were it public.
        D. I have about 4 dozen other sub-forums hosted and a number of them contain adult content. This isn't to say porn site. But as an example, Shaman Skyclad cleansing and blessing rituals which include nudity; or, the Great Rite ceremony which involves ritual sex. I am not going to open these forums to public ridicule or alienate people by exposing their beliefs. The forum is a safe harbor, neutral territory, where people can feel safe about beliefs or just interests.
This is also why I do not permit search engines and spiders onto my site.

It started from a 4x template, was modified to include what was needed to make use of the new 5x features and has be heavily modified with my own PHP code throughout, along with tid bits of code from other forums, all of which gives me the site I want.

My main forum, indicating the gaming forum with many of the mods posted on this site added.
Same site as above, just further enhanced.
The neon green items pulsate to indicate new topics posted.
            The blue halo glows.
            The yellow halo is solid.
            Round icons instead of square.
The yellow Gaming title with glowing halo links to the primary games forum.
With a dark theme, the glow and halo effects really add some quality.
