Long time forum admin, 14 years odd. Was YaBB for many years and eventually bit the bullet and went to VBull, it was a monster transition at the time and conversion wasn't easy but we got there with some database hacking from a smart mate.
We got up to VBull version 4.2.x and something broke that stopped upgrades, lots of manual patches since then to keep the forum running but it's felt fragile for a long time.
Bought VBull 5 and the mobile suite but never installed it, attempted upgrades turned to tears and were backtracked back to the 4.2.x
Playing with upgrading now and it's looking better. Have a VBull 5 test server up so its a good time to explore what we might do after it goes live.
