To increase the sidebar width in vB6 (self-hosted or vBCloud), add this custom CSS in css_additional.css template.

Code:

}

By default, it is set to 320px. Adjust it to the desired value.

Security Notice: Template Runtime Security Patch Released for vBulletin 6.1.6 - 6.2.1

vBulletin has released a security patch for supported versions 6.1.6 through 6.2.1 to address a vulnerability in the template runtime.

If you are running one of these supported versions, I strongly recommend applying the official security patch as soon as possible.

After reviewing the changes included in the patch, my analysis suggests that the vulnerable code also appears to exist in older versions of vBulletin, including earlier 6.x releases, 5.x, and 4.x. However, this is my technical assessment and not an official statement from vBulletin.

Although the full technical details of the vulnerability have not been publicly disclosed, any unpatched security vulnerability should be treated seriously.

Administrators running older, unsupported versions should be aware that these releases may no longer receive official security updates. If your forum is still on one of these versions, it would be prudent to evaluate whether your installation could be affected and consider your available options, including upgrading to a supported release.

As always, before applying any updates or making changes to your forum, ensure that you have a current backup of both your files and database.

Email Blast Mod

I keep getting "see what you missed" emails from all my competitors, and I would like to send some myself. Currently, it seems too complicated for a novice to navigate. I would love a mod that can automate, or at least provide simplified instructions for, sending an email blast to my members. For example, the following list with drop-down choices could make it easier:

Usergroup criteria
what forums
thread criteria
how many snipets
snipet size
include image?
what time of week to send
how many at one time
etc.

I assume there are already services for this, and maybe there is already a built-in feature in vB6. If there is, let me know. But an easy-to-use mod, or even a standalone app that would save me hours of learning to use the built-in feature, would be awesome and is something I think people would pay for.

MOD not showing for member of an included Usergroup

The MOD in question is Copy Code Button Settings

We have a member who had a Paid Subscription purchased by another Administrator, and then updated the members Profile marking the Additional Usergroup for the Paid Subscription and setting the subscription period. He reports however, that he doesn't see the Copy Code link the MOD makes available. The MOD is configured and active, and this Usergroups ID is in the list. Why isn't he seeing it?

Added: Another member, also with an active Paid Subscription (higher level), has reported that they too, don't see the Copy Code link.

Mass PM by list or usergroup

This is something I'd hoped that vB would have done by now, but how hard would it be to have a form based trigger to generate PM's based on either a list provided by an input field -or- by a defined usergroup?

My forum has a file download library as a core part of it, and occassionally we have updates to a file and want to notify anyone who had already downloaded that file in the past couple weeks (fixes rarely come more than a month afterward).

Right now, my solution has been to create a standalone HTML page using your mod for a pre-filled PM (https://vbmods.rocks/forum/vbulletin...efilled-editor) and creating one link for every userID, a chunk of Javascript to pop that in a window I can use to post the PM, and a chunk of Javascript to put a green checkmark after it.

I'd like to find something more automated so that I don't have to generate the standalone page (which I could do using a form post) and click on every link. That's fine for a small list of 15-20. Anything more than that, and it gets a bit unwieldy.

Request: Instagram Media Embed or Retrieval Mod for vBulletin Forums Using Snapinstaink Approach

I am running a vBulletin forum for a content creator community and wanted to raise a mod request around Instagram media integration. Currently when members want to share their own Instagram photos or videos on the forum they face a common problem where Instagram provides no built in way to retrieve previously published content in original resolution. Members end up posting low quality screenshots which look unprofessional in forum posts. I have been using snapinstaink as a manual workaround to retrieve original quality files from public Instagram post URLs before uploading them to the forum. However I wanted to ask whether a vBulletin mod could be developed that automates this retrieval process, similar to how the Auto-Embed Videos mod works, but specifically for Instagram post URLs so that members can paste a public Instagram URL and have the original quality media automatically embedded or attached to their forum post.
